What class is the Rurui Kestrel XT3?
The XT3 comes to you as a Class 3 electric bike. But you can turn it to Class 2 by changing the speed limit (to 20mph) setting of the display.
What is the water resistance level of this bike?
It is IPX4 water-resistant for the whole bike. It means you can ride it in the rain but can't clean it with water spray.
How do you turn on the front headlight?
Usually, you can turn on/off the headlight by pressing the UP arrow button for three seconds.

Loving it ! Uphill , downhill , through the woods it's been great ! I am 5'6" and it works but anything less you better be really agile.
I am climbing right up 700 ft of elevation . It does chew up the battery but been getting 30 -40 miles per charge depending on boost and terrain. Still get exercise but makes it fun and easy .
I wanted to wait til I had some miles on my bike before I reviewed it. I have 250 miles on it now and can say that this bike is a great value. The 16ah battery has great range. I will take it on regular 20 mile rides and never have it go below 1/2 power level and I ride mostly in pedal assist 2. I had to adjust the brakes a couple times to get them set up perfectly, but they work fine. The seat is comfortable. Dollar for dollar it would be hard to find a better comparable bike. Added a rear rack and saddle bags and an adjustable handlebar riser and a cup holder (gotta have one of those) Very pleased with my purchase.
I bought this bike to handle short commutes of 10+ miles each way if I was beat down and needed mostly electric power. Many e-bikes' claims of mileage are not realistic for the modes people choose and the situations they ride in. I already max out the load capacity with my own weight and also added a cargo rack with a mounted milk crate to keep the rucksack off my back. Given these conditions, I am already over-loading and will not get the advertised range.
I did my own range test on normal inflated tires and varied smooth and rough city streets. I did a 30 mile one way trip on PAS 4 averaging a constant 21-22 mph in 7th gear pedaling with enough effort to ride 1 mph faster than the assist. Stopped maybe 15-20 times. I finished the trip with my battery displaying back and forth 25-50 percent remaining ending with around 25%. For this weight and application, I would trust it to go 40 miles on PAS 4 with some significant pedaling. I think this will certainly be more than capable for my needs if I am full strength... if I am beat down, I would trust it to go 30+ miles. So, this bike will get it done for me for sure.
If I went with those 250 watt motor 36V 10 AH battery powered e-bikes that cost 100 bucks less, I would prolly get not much more than half of what I get with this bike. That level of performance might not get it done for what I need. I believe I will get my money's worth outta this bike.
So far the ebike has performed very well. I chose this one after much comparative shopping. A bit of miscommunication during the ordering process was handled swiftly and completely.
I use my bike to go anywhere, i rode it all day and the battery is still fully charged.
